Nigerian natural gas plant adds two Grove GMK5130-2 cranes
Nigeria Liquid Natural Gas (NLNG) has purchased two Grove GMK5130-2 all-terrain cranes. The company runs one of the world’s largest gas liquefaction plants from its facility on Bonny Island Nigeria. The two 130 t capacity cranes will be used for plant maintenance and construction work.
PT Saranabaja Perkasa orders first Grove all-terrain cranes
PT Saranabaja Perkasa has received three new Grove all-terrain cranes. Two are GMK4100L units while the third is a GMK5220. All were purchased from local dealer PT SH Machinery Indonesia. Hidayat president-director of PT Saranabaja Perkasa said there were several design features that attracted his company to the Grove brand.
Compact GMK4100L-1 tackles crowded Melbourne job sites
Crane rental company Skylift Crane Services is the latest Australian business to invest in the increasingly popular GMK4100L-1 from Grove’s long-boom series of all-terrain cranes. At just 2.55 m wide and 13.42 m long the crane is easier to maneuver than five-axle alternatives yet its 100 t capacity and 60 m Megaform boom mean it has the strength and reach to take on lifts more commonly associated with larger cranes.
Manitowoc presents new cranes and technologies at Colombia’s 14th National Congress of Infrastructure
Manitowoc had a successful appearance at the 14th National Congress of Infrastructure Colombia’s largest infrastructure congress held at the end of last year in Cartagena. BYGG has taken delivery of a Potain Hup 32-27 the first one delivered to its home country of Iceland. The company has already placed the newest-generation self-erecting crane on a job site in Reykjavik where it is helping to build a residential development.

Manitowoc showcases two Potain self-erecting cranes at Intermasz 2018
Manitowoc has displayed a Potain Igo 32 and Igo M 14 at Intermasz 2018 a construction trade show that took place between 30 January and 2 February in Poznań Poland. The Igo 32 was exhibited outdoors in the Manitowoc area and the smaller and world-renowned Igo M 14 was shown indoors.
New Grove for Cranes Combined meets Tasmania’s strict road rules
Toward the end of last year Australian crane rental company Cranes Combined received its latest Grove crane a GMK5150L all-terrain. Company owners husband-and-wife team Chris and Cathy Kolodziej bought the 150 t unit to replace an older 100 t-rated GMK4100L which was purchased back in 2011.
Manitowoc appoints new Grove distributor in Poland
As of December 2017 Manitowoc has appointed Zeppelin Polska as a distributor of Grove cranes in Poland. Zeppelin Polska based in Kajetany is an established distributor that owns six workshops throughout Poland and employs a team of around 15 sales personnel as well as 53 field technicians.
Turkish Potain dealer supports next generation of crane engineers with model building competition
Turkish Potain dealer TeknoVinç has sponsored a model crane building competition in Istanbul aimed at inspiring the country’s next generation of engineers. The “Wood Tower Crane Competition” was organized by Yıldız Technical University and featured 13 teams of expert students. Each team was tasked with building a small tower crane from wood which was then evaluated on its uniqueness and tested using a 10 kg weight.
First Grove GRT880 in New York delivers return on investment for dredging company
The first Grove GRT880 rough-terrain crane in New York City is working hard for Great Lakes Dredge & Dock (GLDD) one of the largest providers of dredging services in the United States. Since September 2017 GLDD has used the 80 USt crane for vessel repairing operations and marine equipment installation at its Staten Island facilities.
Potain launches its first hydraulic topless luffing jib crane
The all-new Potain MCH 125 has launched the company’s first hydraulic topless luffing jib crane. Having previewed as a prototype at bauma China 2016 in Shanghai the first units have since been tested on site with select dealers in Thailand Australia and New Zealand ahead of the crane’s launch into several international markets. It is the first topless luffing jib model from Potain and its unique hydraulic technology makes it easier to assemble and faster to operate.
