Grove GMK4100L installs major new footbridge in Manila
Steel Centre Philippines a specialist in the design fabrication and erection of steel structures used a Grove GMK4100L all-terrain crane to install a 28 m footbridge in the Philippines. Working for Metropolitan Manila Development Authority a government agency the company positioned the 20 t bridge in just 30 minutes. The new footbridge sits in Ortigas Avenue a major thoroughfare in Pasig City located in Eastern Manila where it serves as a walkway for pedestrians to cross the busy streets.
Manitowoc promotes its most innovative technologies at Colombia’s largest infrastructure event
Manitowoc showed its most innovative technologies and modern cranes at the 15th National Congress of Infrastructure in Cartagena Colombia the country’s largest infrastructure event. Visitors to Manitowoc’s booth learned about the benefits provided by some of the newest Grove crane models for jobs that require high capacity and compact maneuverability.
Manitowoc realigns European operations to enhance customer focus
Following the example of its Americas and Asia-Pacific regions Manitowoc is merging parts of its tower and mobile crane businesses in Europe. The two will remain independent in terms of operations and product management but will now have a single leader for sales marketing aftermarket and Crane Care. As a result four members of top management have moved into new roles.
Yau Lee chooses Potain MR 618 to build new medical facility in Hong Kong
A Potain MR 618 is building a new private hospital in downtown Hong Kong. Constructing any high-rise building in central Hong Kong poses challenges in terms of space limitations. So main contractor Yau Lee Building Construction and Decoration opted for the Potain luffing jib which has both the compact operating capabilities and capacity to handle the work.
Manitowoc will unveil six new cranes and several new lifting technologies at bauma 2019
Manitowoc will debut six new models from its Grove and Potain lines at bauma 2019 in Munich Germany. It will also present a technology pavilion that highlights a significant number of customer-focused innovations. While six cranes will be unveiled at the show several additional models on display will give visitors the chance to see more than 10 new cranes.
Grove to launch successor to the popular GMK3060 at bauma 2019
Manitowoc Cranes will launch an upgrade of the three-axle Grove GMK3060 all-terrain crane at bauma 2019 in Munich. The new GMK3060L is based on its predecessor’s design but has a longer boom (48 m/157.5 ft instead of 43 m/141 ft) and offers the strongest taxi load charts in its class.

Manitowoc Cranes has announced a new smartphone app for iOS and Android devices that will help crane operators and owners to quickly and easily determine the overall boom and jib length combination required for a lift.
MK Builders sees significant boost in efficiency with switch to self-erecting cranes for residential homebuilding
MK Builders a framing contractor company based in Paradise Pennsylvania has seen great improvements in its residential homebuilding operations since making a switch to Potain self-erecting cranes. In the past the company had used mobile cranes for these applications but with a fleet of self-erecting cranes it has increased efficiency on the jobsite improved visibility optimized its crew’s operations and yielded a higher return on investment.
Manitowoc showcases latest Shuttlelift crane at The Rental Show
Manitowoc Cranes will exhibit its Shuttlelift SCD15 crane at The Rental Show 2019 which will take place from February 17 – 20 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim California.
National Crane unveils new Rapid Attach Platform for NBT series
National Crane has announced a new Rapid Attach Platform for its NBT boom truck series previously unveiled at Crane Days 2018. The completely redesigned platform will replace previous iterations and comes in two styles: yoke style (Y-RAP2) and rotating style (R-RAP2). The yoke style is available now and the rotating style will be available this year.
