Manitowoc expands coverage in North Dakota with Hayden-Murphy
Manitowoc has expanded Hayden-Murphy’s coverage of Grove and Manitowoc cranes to include North Dakota. The Minneapolis-based company now offers full sales rentals aftermarket parts and service for the entire state of North Dakota. The move strengthens Manitowoc’s dealer network in the region.
Customers preview new Potain MCT 565 on Chinese factory tour
A group of more than 40 customers from across Asia-Pacific toured Manitowoc’s Potain factory in Zhangjiagang China to see firsthand the production improvements at the manufacturing plant. The group were also given an exclusive preview of the Potain MCT 565 topless crane which will officially launch at bauma China this November.
Potain MCT 385 cranes chosen for Singapore’s first ‘smart’ housing block
A fleet of 12 Potain tower cranes is working on a pioneering public housing project in Singapore. The development is the country’s first “smart” housing block and incorporates a number of eco-friendly design features such as energy-efficient elevators and waste chutes for recyclable materials.
Potain cranes lead construction on Vietnam’s tallest building
The completion of Landmark 81 is set to transform the skyline of Ho Chi Minh City. All 81 stories of the building were completed in January this year 15 months after four Potain cranes were deployed to lead construction. The two MR 418 luffing jib cranes and two MCT 205 topless cranes handled steel formwork and other materials during building work.
Potain and Lift Solutions contribute to stunning Monaco ocean lands reclamation project from Marseille
Three Potain MD top-slewing tower cranes are helping to construct 18 reinforced concrete “caissons” that are required as part of the design and construction of the new Portier Cove eco-neighbourhood in Monaco. Started in 2016 Portier Cove is a €1.36 billion plan that will see six hectares of land reclaimed from the sea upon which 60 000 m² of housing an extension of the Grimaldi Forum and a coastal promenade will be built.
Manitowoc cranes expedite construction of Athletes’ Village at venue for 2019 Pan American Games
A fleet of six Manitowoc cranes is hard at work constructing the 2019 Pan American Games Athletes’ Village in Lima Peru. Since last December five Potain MCi 85 tower cranes and a Grove TMS800E truck-mounted crane have been onsite lifting formwork concrete blocks and smaller equipment. The village’s seven apartment towers must be ready by June of 2019 when the games start. The 1 096 units will accommodate all 9 000 athletes participating in the event in the Peruvian capital.
Manitowoc delivers five new Grove GMK4090 to Mammoet
Dutch heavy-duty logistics company Mammoet has purchased five new Grove GMK4090 all-terrain cranes from the Manitowoc factory in Wilhelmshaven Germany. The GMK4090 was launched in Q3 2017 and Mammoet has purchased some of the first cranes to come off the production line.
Champion Crane boosts efficiency and operator confidence with National Crane NBT55
Champion Crane (Champion) is one of the latest companies to improve its operations through the enhanced stability and efficiency of a National Crane boom truck. The Des Moines Iowa-based contractor has been using a 55 USt NBT55 for just over a year on a variety of jobs including HVAC roofing residential trusses and tree work.
W.O. Grubb customers experience high performance of Manitowoc MLC300 with VPC-MAX
W.O. Grubb reported that the Manitowoc MLC300 is quickly gaining recognition among customers as the best crane in its class often outperforming larger wagon-equipped cranes. According to the Richmond Virginia-based rental firm the 386 USt crawler crane is now the most requested model in its 80-plus crawler crane fleet and all its MLC300 units are already booked well into 2019.
Indonesian company PT Indopura buys its first Potain cranes
Manitowoc has celebrated the delivery of its first two Potain cranes to PT Indonesia Pondasi Raya (known locally as PT Indopora) one of which is a Hup 32-27 self-erecting crane the first in Indonesia. Both the Hup and the MC 310 K12 top-slewing crane join PT Indopura’s fleet of 100-plus cranes the majority of which are crawler and mobile units.
Manitowoc successfully manufactures first Grove GRT8100 in Italy
The first Grove GRT8100 manufactured outside the USA has left the production line in Niella Tanaro Italy. Until now the production of this crane model was exclusive to Manitowoc’s factory in Shady Grove Pennsylvania USA.
Potain Hup 32-27 builds luxury apartments on Australia’s Sunshine Coast
Australian company Mosaic Construction received a new Potain Hup 32-27 self-erecting crane and immediately sent it to a new residential development named Cyan in Caloundra Queensland. With a view over Kings Beach and the Pacific Ocean the new development has 31 apartments including two penthouses. Construction completed in June 2018.
