Manitowoc’s Niella Tanaro plant adds new Grove GRT655/655L rough-terrain cranes to production line-up

The first Grove GRT655L and GRT655 rough terrain cranes have been assembled at Manitowoc’s Niella Tanaro plant. The news comes almost exactly one year after it was announced that GRT880 and GRT8100 rough terrain cranes would begin production from the Italian factory – the first to be produced outside of Shady Grove Pennsylvania USA. What’s more given the success of the production of GRT8100 and GRT880 models from Niella Tanaro Manitowoc has decided to expand the product portfolio of its European production.

Runnion Equipment Company opens new facility to better service National Crane customers

Runnion Equipment Company (Runnion Equipment) hosted an open house to celebrate the grand opening of its new facility officially marking its move from Lyons Illinois to its new bigger location in Hodgkins Illinois. More than 150 customers and vendors attended the event including representatives from National Crane and the mayor of Hodgkins Noel B. Cummings.

Vice President Mike Pence tours The Manitowoc Company Inc. Pennsylvania factory urges Congress to ratify USMCA

United States Vice President Mike Pence addressed more than 1 000 Manitowoc employees at an event hosted by the company at its manufacturing facility in Shady Grove Pennsylvania. The Vice President called on Congress to ratify the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and highlighted how the new trade deal will add $68 billion to the U.S. economy and create over 176 000 jobs.

Manitowoc announces new apprenticeship program to help develop a skilled workforce in Pennsylvania

Manitowoc is launching a new apprenticeship program to help certify welders in Pennsylvania. This new program follows recent approval from the state of Pennsylvania Department of Labor. The company expects to have the program up and running in August of this year. The move reflects the company’s commitment to further building the U.S. skilled workforce.

IDP supplies over 35 Potain cranes for major new development in Egypt

Over 35 Potain tower cranes are working on the construction of the New El Alamein City an urban development being built on Egypt’s northern coast. The cranes were sold by International Development Programmes (IDP) Potain’s dealer for Egypt. The high-profile project will offer year-round living and accommodate a population of over 3 million across an area of 21 000 hectares. The new city will house hotels universities sports clubs entertainment outlets residential units business centers and even a scientific research center.

Potain MCT 85 at work on a new temple in India

Mumbai-based construction company Bhanu Construction is using a Potain MCT 85 crane to ensure on-time construction of a new temple in the town of Shirdi India. The town is a spiritual center of India and most famous for being the home of Shirdi Sai Baba.

Four GMK4100L-1 all-terrain cranes complete Spanish rental fleet

Manitowoc has delivered four Grove GMK4100L-1 all-terrain cranes to Spanish rental company Transportes y Grúas Aguado. Headquartered in Madrid Transportes y Grúas Aguado has seven premises across the country and specializes in the transport and lifting of large loads.

Potain MCT 385 L14 hailed “Tower Crane of the Year”

The Potain MCT 385 L14 top-slewing crane has won the “Tower Crane of the Year” award at bauma CTT RUSSIA 2019. The award was part of the “Innovations in construction equipment in Russia” contest which aimed at identifying innovative construction equipment solutions in Russia.

Grove GMK5150L helps B+V Trans s.r.o. carry the load

Czech special transport company B+V Trans s.r.o. has taken delivery of a new Grove GMK5150L all-terrain crane to assist with loading and unloading trailers. B+V Trans is based in Tabor Czechia and is a specialist of heavy and oversized transport; it can transport parts with lengths of up to 45 m and weights of up to 60 t.

Yonkers Contracting Company boosts job site efficiency with the Grove GRT880 on New York Route 17 road project

Yonkers Contracting Company (Yonkers) is using its recently acquired Grove GRT880 on an infrastructure project along Route 17 in Harriman New York. The project includes building a new bridge a new interchange and inserting new drainage has a quick-paced schedule and is expected to be completed later this year. Yonkers is using their GRT crane to lift steel beams precast drainage pipes and other materials for the project. Due to the reach needed to complete the lifts of the steel beams and drainage pipes the GRT880’s impressive load charts were on full display.
