Canada’s first Grove GMK6400-1 kick-starts new era for A.W. Leil Cranes and Equipment

• A new Grove 450-USt all-terrain crane equips the Maritimes contractor to compete for wind farm maintenance jobs.
• The company initially considered 500-650 USt models, but the GMK6400-1’s MAXbase and MegaWingLift™ features, giving it seven- or eight-axle performance, proved the right choice.
• The crane has been constantly in demand since it left its Dartmouth base in early January.

BKL Baukran Logistik updates 150 t Grove offerings with the latest technology

PT Superkrane purchases Asia’s first Grove GRT8120

• The largest rough-terrain crane on two axles will take pride of place at the top of the Indonesian rental company’s RT inventory.
• Adding the optional 17.6 m jib produces a maximum tip height of 80.8 m and will help the company exploit additional opportunities.

Potain MDT 109 cranes assembled by helicopter on French glacier

• Potain dealer for the Rhône-Alpes region Valente Grue Assistance has assembled two Potain MDT 109 top-slewing tower cranes on France’s largest glacier, the Mer de Glace “Sea of Ice” near Chamonix in the French Alps.
• The respective cranes will be used to help construct a logistics base and a cable car station and, due to the remote location, had to be assembled by helicopter.
• In each instance, it took less than four days to carry out the entire operation, from the delivery of the elements to the commissioning of the cranes.

EnCORE brings new life to Grove GMK3050 for Dutch steel erector and helps secure operator for the company

• A prospective new crane operator for Van Gestel Montage had one condition for joining the company: he had to have an original Grove GMK3050 
• Van Gestel Montage called the team at Manitowoc’s Breda facility in The Netherlands to source and then refurbish a used GMK3050 through its EnCORE program. 

Two Potain MCH 175 cranes selected for The Nexus in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

• The Potain hydraulic luffing jib cranes are helping to transform District 1’s landscape with the construction of a new Grade A office complex called The Nexus. 
• The project consists of five basement levels and two towers with a total building area of 114,000 m2.

Perfect pair: Grove cranes used in tandem on two complex projects in Spain

• Spanish rental company Tinlohi deployed its Grove cranes in tandem on a wind farm and then at an industrial plant. Both projects were completed without a hitch. 
• To dismantle the wind turbine, the cranes completed the job in less than a day — including all set-up and tear down. 
• At the industrial plant, the cranes delivered dependable control to move fragile components to a staging area inside a working facility.
