Groves Equipment adds largest Grove rough-terrain crane
Manitowoc Cranes and Groves Equipment Rental Company celebrated the sale of Grove’s newest rough-terrain crane to the Texas-based customer in a ceremony last week at CONEXPO 2011. They purchased the crane from Manitowoc dealer H&E Equipment in Houston Texas.
The RT9150E launched last year is currently the biggest rough-terrain crane in production both in terms of its 150 USt capacity and in terms of its 197 ft. main boom length.
Steven McReynolds president of Groves Equipment said the RT9150 was purchased for a long-term rental to a chemical company and will give the customer new lifting opportunities because of its reach.
“The thing that’s spectacular about the crane is its ability to reach so high ” McReynolds said.
The RT9150E was designed to offer customers flexibility in terms of bigger and longer lifts reducing the need to bring in other types of cranes. This capability will minimize his customer’s need to rent other types of cranes as well as reduce the number of operators needed on the job site. This advantage is magnified because Grove rough-terrain cranes are easy to set up and operate.
