German rental company welcomes second 55 t Grove AT
Christina Glück executive board member of Auto-Klug said the crane has three key features that give it optimum versatility.
“The Grove GMK3055 has the ideal combination of boom length compact design and lifting capacity ” she said. “With a 43 m boom and counterweight of up to 7.6 t that can be carried while the vehicle remains below 12 t per axle there’s a real competitive advantage in terms of lift height and capability. It is also very compact and we can get it into surprisingly small spaces.”
Auto-Klug now offers 12 Krupp and Grove cranes for rent across much of central and southeast Germany. The latest arrival in the company’s fleet was presented to Auto-Klug at a specially-arranged event at the Grove plant in Niella Tanaro northern Italy where the crane is built. The event was attended by senior staff from Auto-Klug and regional Manitowoc management.
With a 55 t capacity and a carrier just 2.55 m wide and less than 9 m long the three-axle GMK3055 is a compact but powerful all-terrain crane. It includes Grove’s unique MEGATRAK independent suspension system and all-wheel steering for better on-site maneuvering. The crane’s 43 m boom can be used with a lattice extension increasing reach to just over 60 m.
Siegfried Kohl technical manager at Auto-Klug said the jib offers better reach even in constrained locations.
“With its hydraulic bi-fold swingaway jib we can help customers reach the most difficult spots even in very tight spaces. We have a long history of cooperation with Grove so we understand the cranes and their capabilities.”
Auto-Klug based in Hof is a long-running family business. Its 200 employees are based in offices in Bavaria Thuringia Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. In addition to its fleet of 41 mobile cranes which range up to 500 t in capacity the company also provides recovery towing services auto recycling and heavy hauling.
