Manitowoc invests significantly in European Potain tower crane factories

• Over the last three years, Manitowoc has made considerable investments in its Potain tower crane factories in Charlieu and Moulins in France, Baltar in Portugal, and Niella Tanaro in Italy.
• The investments include new buildings and extended production areas, new production lines with automated welding, custom tooling, and redesigned processes.

• Potain is launching two new MCT 385A cranes; updates to the popular MCT 385, the first topless model from the company’s plant in Zhangjiagang, China
• The upgraded models boast a number of improvements in working height, lift capacity and load curve
• The newly engineered 75 m jib shows greatest improvement at longer jib lengths while freestanding height is increased up to 5 m.

Grove’s Indonesian dealer completes intensive training program to ensure excellence in customer support

• Cranserco was appointed as the Indonesian dealer for rough-terrain cranes last year; 24 staff have now completed a combined total of almost 1,200 individual courses.
• The intensive training under Manitowoc’s Technical E-Learning program was carried out both online and onsite, and will ensure the highest levels of product support.

Potain Lift Solutions tackles challenging Tanzanian power station project with ease

• A joint venture between The Arab Contractors and El Sewedy Electric enlisted the help of Potain Lift Solutions for a challenging job constructing a dam and powerhouse at the new Julius Nyerere Hydropower Station in Tanzania. 
• Potain’s expertise in providing customized products, such as for dams and bridges, gave the joint venture the trust and confidence to accept the brand’s proposal for a 20 t capacity MCT 565 and 64 t capacity MD 1600 crane, mounted on a traveling platform.

Potain wins big at 2021 Tower Crane Awards in Paris

• Potain distributors came top in three categories at the third Tower Cranes Awards, held September 23 at the Museum of Fairground Arts in Paris, France. 
• GLI was recognised in the Top-slewing Assembly of the Year category for its erection by helicopter of an MCT 58 on top of a remote dam on the island of La Réunion.
• Valente Grue Assistance won Self-erecting Assembly of the Year for a GTMR 386B working in the Alps at an altitude of 2,700 m.

Manitowoc to exhibit latest Shuttlelift crane at The ARA Show

• Manitowoc returns to The ARA Show, which will take place Oct. 17 – 20, 2021 in Las Vegas. 
• Manitowoc will show its SCD15 carrydeck crane that features a redesigned, lighter platform, a larger cab with easy to operate proportional lever controls and full-color, graphical RCL.
• The crane boasts a compact footprint, long reach and hefty capacity, all of which make it ideal for rental work.

Four Potain MDT tower cranes become integral part of famous Minneapolis bridge’s history — and also its structure

• With conventional crane solutions off the table for a variety of reasons, restoration of the historic Minneapolis Third Avenue bridge called for an innovative new approach. 
• Potain MDT topless cranes were built into the piers of the bridge, as traditional anchoring solutions would have required too much space.
• The solution is working so well that the contractors plan to take it into consideration right from the start of future bridge projects — even where more typical solutions would fit.
