Metcalf Crane Services uses innovative integrated heavy-duty jib for Grove GMK5250L on Australian rail project

Australian rental company Metcalf Crane Services utilized the integrated heavy-duty jib (known locally as a ‘machinery runner’) on a Grove GMK5250L to handle the delicate unloading and installation of wall panels for a new rail corridor project in Seaford Victoria. Using the machinery runner from the Grove all-terrain crane which is integrated into the crane’s swingaway jib allows the use of both main and auxiliary hoists for the operation of two hooks simultaneously.

Grove GMK tandem lift showcases impressive heavy lift at Detroit docks

JJ Curran (www.jjcurran.com) a Detroit Michigan-based crane rental and lifting service was recently called upon to help with a massive lifting job at the city docks. The project involved hoisting a 116.5 USt gas “scrubber ” which was 109 ft long and 19.5 ft in diameter from a barge docked on the Detroit River to the dock on Zug Island. Once landed on Zug Island it would be transported to its final destination at the steel mill. The scrubber will be set vertically in position at the mill during a plant-wide shutdown this coming spring.

New Potain cranes get to work for Filipino contractor Whiteport

General contractor Whiteport has purchased two new Potain MCT 205 tower cranes both of which will be used on a range of projects around Manila Philippines. Arthur Loscano assistant vice president for equipment at Whiteport said his company’s previous good experiences with Potain prompted these latest investments.

Grove GMK4100L installs major new footbridge in Manila

Steel Centre Philippines a specialist in the design fabrication and erection of steel structures used a Grove GMK4100L all-terrain crane to install a 28 m footbridge in the Philippines. Working for Metropolitan Manila Development Authority a government agency the company positioned the 20 t bridge in just 30 minutes. The new footbridge sits in Ortigas Avenue a major thoroughfare in Pasig City located in Eastern Manila where it serves as a walkway for pedestrians to cross the busy streets.

Grove to launch successor to the popular GMK3060 at bauma 2019
