Grove GMK5200-1 adds versatility to Raymond Excavating’s fleet
Raymond Excavating has taken delivery of a Grove GMK5200-1 all-terrain crane in an effort to respond to customer needs in the east central and southeast parts of Michigan. The Marysville-based company received the crane in March of 2016 and immediately put it to work to assist with a variety of lifting jobs including placement of HVAC units large concrete box culvers and installation of communication towers that stand as tall as 200 ft.

New company leaders for Asia and Middle East region
As part of Manitowoc’s new sales organization the company has made two senior appointments for the Asia and Middle East region. Both David Semple and Christophe Simoncelli who have assumed the new roles have close to 20 years of experience at Manitowoc working primarily in sales and general management functions across the company’s product lines.
Grove GMK5240 makes short work of stage at Pro Football Hall of Fame
After the closing of the 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival in Canton Ohio a Grove GMK5240 became the star of the show. Canton Erectors a rigging and heavy haul trucking company also based in Canton used the 240 USt all-terrain crane to disassemble the stage following the prestigious ceremony which took place on the field of the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

Manitowoc a accueilli plus de 320 invités au sein de son usine de Niella Tanaro en Italie pour célébrer le lancement de la Hup 40-30 Potain. La Hup 40-30 est le second modèle de la gamme des Hup Potain après la Hup 32-27 lancée à bauma 2016.
Manitowoc lance la Potain Hup 40-30 la GMA d’avant-garde
Manitowoc a officiellement lancé la Hup 40-30 le second modèle de cette nouvelle gamme Hup Potain. Cette GMA d’avant-garde révélée en avant-première à bauma 2016 arbore un ensemble d’innovations tant sur le design même de la grue que sur la technologie qui l’équipe. Cette nouvelle grue à montage automatisé a été présentée pour un lancement officiel à l’usine Manitowoc de Niella Tanaro en Italie auprès de plus de 320 participants.
Grove GHC55s enable new solar panel assembly technique
Minneapolis Minnesota-based Mortenson Construction is using a trio of Grove GHC55 telescoping crawler cranes to perform a new method of solar panel assembly and installation at the Alamo solar farms in Uvalde Texas. Traditionally solar panels have been constructed by adjoining several 2 ft by 3 ft modules each requiring a separate lift. The GHC cranes operate with 100 percent pick and carry capability increasing efficiency on the jobsite.
New Potain MCR 295 luffing jib crane launches at bauma China
Manitowoc will use bauma China 2016 to introduce a new Potain luffing jib crane for the Asia-Pacific Middle East Africa and Latin American markets. The Potain MCR 295 will be the largest luffing jib crane from the Manitowoc manufacturing facility in Zhangjiagang China. The crane will take center stage on the company’s booth at the event which will be located on Stand A.02 in the outdoor area. This year’s bauma China will take place between November 22 and 25 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
MLC650 brings easy assembly and mobility to mountain wind farm construction
- A Manitowoc MLC650 was chosen to work on an ambitious wind farm project due to its ease of assembly and compact footprint.
- Multiple crane erections and disassemblies were required on this jobsite so the crane’s ability to lift at a high capacity without a counterweight wagon has increased efficiency in assembly time.
- The MLC650’s compact footprint enables it to fit in tight spaces in the rocky mountainous terrain of the job site.
Grove RT cranes chosen for tough mine site in Indonesia
PT Freeport Indonesia a mining company that operates one of the largest copper and gold mines in the world has added three Grove cranes to its fleet. The RT765E-2 and two RT530E-2 rough-terrain cranes join the company’s operations at its Irian Jaya location one of the world’s largest mine sites. The new units will replace two older Grove RT cranes that are being retired and PT Freeport has again turned to Manitowoc having been impressed with the reliability and capability of its existing Grove units in the demanding Indonesian weather conditions.
Corpinsa grows Potain fleet with fourth MCR 160 in Panama
Panama City’s Corpinsa one of Manitowoc’s largest distributors in Central America has just added its fourth Potain MCR 160 to its fleet. The tower crane is already at work helping build residential towers along the waterfront in Panama City. According to CEO Raymond Mizrachi the company wanted to invest in tower cranes that can be easily placed inside buildings during construction — a capability for which the 10 t (11 USt) MCR 160 is becoming known thanks in part to Corpinsa bringing them visibility in the country.
Singapore’s Asiagroup gets region’s first Grove GMK5250L
The first Grove GMK5250L all-terrain crane in Singapore has arrived as part of Asiagroup Leasing Pte. Ltd.’s latest deliveries. The heavy lifting and haulage solutions company has ordered nine new cranes from Manitowoc over the past two years. The arrival of Singapore’s first GMK5250L was commemorated at a special handover event this September at the Manitowoc facility in Tuas with leadership from both Asiagroup and Manitowoc in attendance.
