    • Italian construction company ITINERA has called on Manitowoc to support the renovation of the Gravagna viaduct near Genoa with the world's first MDLT 1109 models, the largest top-slewing cranes ever produced from Potain in Europe.
    • The MDLT 1109 replaces the hugely popular MD 1100 and combines high performance lifting (11.1 t at 80 m) with compact transport and simplified assembly.

  • Two Grove cranes from Palumbo Heavy Lift team up for spectacular tandem lifts in Naples

    • Palumbo Heavy Lift sent its new Grove GMK5250XL-1 plus its GMK7450 to remove masts on a Perini Navi superyacht in Naples, Italy.
    • The company particularly appreciated the GMK5250XL-1’s long 78.5 m main boom, which helped the team complete the complex lifting work within a day.

  • Grove GMK6300L-1 comes to the rescue following incident at Istanbul Airport

    • A Grove GMK6300L-1 was rapidly deployed to assist with an aircraft salvage operation after a plane landed without its front landing gear at Istanbul Airport.
    • The crane successfully lifted the 15.4 t nose of the airplane, ensuring the rescue operation was a success.

  • Manitowoc lifts its community with Family Day festivities

    • Manitowoc hosted a Family Day event in Shady Grove, Pennsylvania, that brought together its employees and their families for a day of celebration and bonding.

    • Family-owned crane rental company Pater upgraded its beloved Grove GMK5095 all-terrain crane for a larger 150 t GMK5150XL and is already reaping the rewards.
    • The new crane got right to work, lifting 6 t concrete floor panels for a local community center in the Netherlands.

  • Tall order Grove GMK5250XL-1 called in for high-rise project in downtown Amsterdam

    • Dutch transportation and lifting company Gaffert assigned its new GMK5250XL-1 all-terrain crane to an office development in Amsterdam to lift technical items needed for the building’s elevator fire safety system.
    • The job lasted two days due to space limitations but was completed seamlessly thanks to the crane’s control and precision.

GMK5250L’s lifting power at long radii solves an HVAC challenge for Dornseiff

German crane rental company Dornseiff didn’t have to wait long for its new Grove GMK5250L to provide a return on investment. On its first job for the Burbach-based company the crane solved an HVAC challenge lifting 10 refrigeration units at an unusually long radius.

Manitowoc Cranes highlights Grove and Potain breakthroughs at JDL Med 2016

Manitowoc Cranes had a strong showing at the JDL Med 2016 featuring a range of Grove cranes and the pioneering Potain Hup 32-27 for the tradeshow’s attendees. The event was held October 12 – 14 in Marseille France and saw more than 15 000 visitors enter the gates of Parc Chanot to view the latest advancements from across the lifting handling elevation transportation and packaging industries.

Manitowoc Cranes awards Kanoo Machinery in Saudi Arabia Elite Dealer status

Kanoo Machinery (Kanoo) Manitowoc’s long-standing distribution partner in the Middle East has been awarded the prestigious Manitowoc Cranes Elite Dealer status for its Saudi Arabian operations. Kanoo Machinery’s Saudi Arabian location is one of only four dealerships to receive this designation in the Middle East. The Elite Dealer award recognizes dealers that excel in their parts and services standards raising those standards at an international level.

Grove GMK5200-1 adds versatility to Raymond Excavating’s fleet

Raymond Excavating has taken delivery of a Grove GMK5200-1 all-terrain crane in an effort to respond to customer needs in the east central and southeast parts of Michigan. The Marysville-based company received the crane in March of 2016 and immediately put it to work to assist with a variety of lifting jobs including placement of HVAC units large concrete box culvers and installation of communication towers that stand as tall as 200 ft.

Manitowoc delivers 100th Grove GMK5250L

Only one year after its introduction Manitowoc has delivered its 100th Grove GMK5250L. German rental company Armbruster Autokran-Vermietung which is based in Pliezhausen will add the groundbreaking all-terrain crane to its fleet of 14 machines.

New company leaders for Asia and Middle East region

As part of Manitowoc’s new sales organization the company has made two senior appointments for the Asia and Middle East region. Both David Semple and Christophe Simoncelli who have assumed the new roles have close to 20 years of experience at Manitowoc working primarily in sales and general management functions across the company’s product lines.

Grove GMK5240 makes short work of stage at Pro Football Hall of Fame

After the closing of the 2016 Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival in Canton Ohio a Grove GMK5240 became the star of the show. Canton Erectors a rigging and heavy haul trucking company also based in Canton used the 240 USt all-terrain crane to disassemble the stage following the prestigious ceremony which took place on the field of the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.

International Hup 40-30 launch at the updated Niella Tanaro factory

Manitowoc welcomed more than 320 guests to its factory in Niella Tanaro Italy to celebrate the launch of the new Potain Hup 40-30. The Hup 40-30 is the second model from the new Potain Hup range after the Hup 32-27 which was launched at bauma 2016.

Manitowoc has officially launched the Hup 40-30 the second model from the new Potain Hup range. The pioneering self-erecting tower crane which was first shown as a prototype at bauma 2016 boasts a range of innovative design and technology features. The crane was unveiled during an event at Manitowoc’s factory in Niella Tanaro Italy with more than 320 guests in attendance.
