    • Italian construction company ITINERA has called on Manitowoc to support the renovation of the Gravagna viaduct near Genoa with the world's first MDLT 1109 models, the largest top-slewing cranes ever produced from Potain in Europe.
    • The MDLT 1109 replaces the hugely popular MD 1100 and combines high performance lifting (11.1 t at 80 m) with compact transport and simplified assembly.

    • Palumbo Heavy Lift sent its new Grove GMK5250XL-1 plus its GMK7450 to remove masts on a Perini Navi superyacht in Naples, Italy.
    • The company particularly appreciated the GMK5250XL-1’s long 78.5 m main boom, which helped the team complete the complex lifting work within a day.

  • Grove GMK6300L-1 comes to the rescue following incident at Istanbul Airport

    • A Grove GMK6300L-1 was rapidly deployed to assist with an aircraft salvage operation after a plane landed without its front landing gear at Istanbul Airport.
    • The crane successfully lifted the 15.4 t nose of the airplane, ensuring the rescue operation was a success.

  • Tall order Grove GMK5250XL-1 called in for high-rise project in downtown Amsterdam

    • Dutch transportation and lifting company Gaffert assigned its new GMK5250XL-1 all-terrain crane to an office development in Amsterdam to lift technical items needed for the building’s elevator fire safety system.
    • The job lasted two days due to space limitations but was completed seamlessly thanks to the crane’s control and precision.

Manitowoc will unveil six new cranes and several new lifting technologies at bauma 2019

Manitowoc will debut six new models from its Grove and Potain lines at bauma 2019 in Munich Germany. It will also present a technology pavilion that highlights a significant number of customer-focused innovations. While six cranes will be unveiled at the show several additional models on display will give visitors the chance to see more than 10 new cranes.

Grove to launch successor to the popular GMK3060 at bauma 2019

Manitowoc Cranes will launch an upgrade of the three-axle Grove GMK3060 all-terrain crane at bauma 2019 in Munich. The new GMK3060L is based on its predecessor’s design but has a longer boom (48 m/157.5 ft instead of 43 m/141 ft) and offers the strongest taxi load charts in its class.

MK Builders sees significant boost in efficiency with switch to self-erecting cranes for residential homebuilding

MK Builders a framing contractor company based in Paradise Pennsylvania has seen great improvements in its residential homebuilding operations since making a switch to Potain self-erecting cranes. In the past the company had used mobile cranes for these applications but with a fleet of self-erecting cranes it has increased efficiency on the jobsite improved visibility optimized its crew’s operations and yielded a higher return on investment.

National Crane unveils new Rapid Attach Platform for NBT series

National Crane has announced a new Rapid Attach Platform for its NBT boom truck series previously unveiled at Crane Days 2018. The completely redesigned platform will replace previous iterations and comes in two styles: yoke style (Y-RAP2) and rotating style (R-RAP2). The yoke style is available now and the rotating style will be available this year.

Two new GMKs sold to HTC WOLFFKRAN

UK-based crane supplier HTC WOLFFKRAN has recently taken delivery of a brand-new GMK6300L-1; its second Grove all-terrain crane of 2018. The crane joins the company’s GMK5250L which was purchased earlier this year and displayed at Vertikal Days 2018.

Manitowoc launches internal mast operator lift for Potain top slewing cranes

Manitowoc has officially launched an internal mast operator lift for Potain top slewing cranes. The Potain Cab-IN allows for fast easy and safe travel to and from the crane cab while retaining regular mast ladder access. It fits inside all K-mast systems of 1.6 m 2 m and 2.45 m sections. The system is also compatible with all Potain bases/chassis meaning it can be fitted into both existing and new crane models.

Manitowoc launches its largest Potain topless crane yet

Manitowoc has officially launched the Potain MCT 565 currently its largest topless crane at this year’s bauma China 2018. The company invited customers dealers end users and media to a specially-arranged event inside the Shanghai trade fair to present the crane. The following day a group of special guests were welcomed to the Manitowoc factory in nearby Zhangjiagang where the MCT 565 was shown fully assembled complete with its full 80 m jib.
