Grove cranes support infrastructure growth in the Philippines
MDC Equipment Solutions (MEQ) the equipment supply subsidiary of Filipino construction giant Makati Development Corporation (MDC) has added a number of Manitowoc-brand cranes to its fleet. The growing MEQ fleet now includes a team of 28 Grove mobile cranes an increasingly prominent brand in the MEQ equipment mix. The most recent arrivals are four RT530E-2 rough-terrain cranes; while two TMS700E truck cranes and a GMK5220 all-terrain crane have also been added in recent months.

Manitowoc and its partners — Foucherans France-based OBrent Grue for self-erecting cranes and Belley France-based Valente Grue Assistance — worked together to exhibit a wide range of cranes and technologies at Journées du Levage 2017 (JDL 2017) in Beaune France.
Grove RT550E takes on challenging rooftop lifts in Hong Kong
The Yuen Long MTR station in Hong Kong is undergoing a series of improvements which include upgrading vehicular access to the site. On the job is a Grove RT550E rough-terrain crane which Yee Hop Engineering Co. Ltd. has positioned on the station roof to hoist up construction materials including steel bars and cement with loads weighing up to 14 t.
Tutt Bryant’s Manitowoc MLC650 kick starts Australian infrastructure project
The Forrestfield-Airport Link will be a new subway system linking downtown Perth with the Western Australian city’s airport. Tutt Bryant Heavy Lift & Shift provided the lifting power to build one of the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) units and sent its 650 t capacity Manitowoc MLC650 to handle the task.
Customized Potain tower cranes support steel yard logistics
Two specially adapted Potain tower cranes an MD 1100 and an MD 1600 are being used to load steel slabs which vary in weight from 15 t to 50 t onto trucks at a steel yard in Vallese di Oppeano Italy. In collaboration with Bergamo-based Potain crane distributor Techind Manitowoc supplied the cranes to industrial plant and steel yard management company Ecoenergy. The company is responsible for internal and external logistics at the steel yard which is owned by one of Russia’s largest steel companies.
Shawmut Equipment celebrates 60 years in the lifting industry
Shawmut Equipment one of Manitowoc Cranes’ leading distributors is celebrating its 60th year in the cranes and lifting business. Over the last six decades the Manchester Connecticut-based company has been an integral part of Manitowoc’s expansion into the northeastern United States as well as the Atlantic provinces of Canada. Shawmut offers a full range of Manitowoc Grove Potain and National Crane-branded cranes in addition to a variety of utility equipment.
Indonesia’s Kokar WIKA orders more Potain MCT 205 cranes
Kokar WIKA has purchased a further four Potain MCT 205 tower cranes over the past 12 months to strengthen its growing rental fleet. The cranes were all ordered through Multicrane Perkasa Manitowoc’s exclusive dealer for Potain cranes in Indonesia. Prior to this latest order Kokar WIKA had 20 Potain machines including a further two MCT 205 units. The MCT 205 is a topless tower crane with a maximum capacity of 10 t and up to 65 m of jib.
Potain tower cranes construct the world’s second longest span suspension bridge in China
Six Potain cranes are working to construct a record-breaking bridge: the Yangsigang Bridge in Wuhan Hubei Province China. The gigantic project involves the construction of a 4 134 m double-deck suspension bridge with a main span that stretches 1 700 m across the Yangtze River the longest river in Asia.

Cranes help to build three storage tanks with a capacity of 200 million liters each.
RIMASA adds more Potain cranes to meet growing demand
Indonesia’s PT. Tanjungsari Prima Sentosa (RIMASA) has placed a second order for Potain cranes after receiving its first cranes from the company last year. This latest order was placed through Multicrane Perkasa Manitowoc’s exclusive dealer for Potain cranes in the country. The order for four new MCT 205 cranes means RIMASA has now ordered 10 new Potain cranes over the past 12 months all MCT 205 or MC 310 K12 models.
Manitowoc appoints new Potain dealer for Indonesia
Manitowoc has strengthened its operations in Southeast Asia with the appointment of Multicrane Perkasa as its new dealer for Potain cranes in Indonesia. Based in Jakarta the crane and construction equipment distributor has invested in comprehensive Manitowoc Crane Care training for five of its employees to ensure customers receive the fast and effective service that backs up each Potain purchase.
